Lancaster National Speedway has received three nominations from Speed51.com for their annual year-end awards that salute the best of the short track racing industry, “The 51’s” presented by JEGS.
The Lancaster National Speedway website has been nominated for Best Track/Series website. Track President Tim Packman received a nomination for Short Track Promoter of the Year in just his first year in the position. Veteran track announcer, Dave Buchanan, was named a nominee for Short Track Announcer of the Year. In addition, an image of Dave Rigan’s crash into the turn three Thermal Foam taken by Duane Canfield was selected as a finalist for Photo of the Year.
Fans are encouraged the cast their votes at Speed51Awards.com. You can vote once per day, per e-mail address through 11:59 p.m. EST on January 31, 2017. A vote must be recorded in every category for the ballot to count.
Several racers that competed at Lancaster during the past season are also eligible for awards. Modified drivers Patrick Emerling and Matt Hirschman are nominated for Short Track Driver of the Year. Race of Champions Modified regular Tyler Rypkema received a nomination for Most Improved Driver. Mike Leaty earned a nomination for Comeback Driver of the Year. Former track champion Andy Jankowiak is a nominee for Best Personality.
