LANCASTER, N.Y. (September 30, 2019) – Lancaster Speedway @ New York International Raceway Park is proud to congratulate its 2019 track champions as part of the series of stock car events that were promoted in conjunction with the Race of Champions.

Rich Sharpe of Lancaster, N.Y. captured his third career Street Stock track championship. Sharpe won three out of the five Street Stock features, including his fifth win at the U.S. Open. Sharpe finished his season last weekend with a win at Race of Champions weekend at Lake Erie Speedway.

Nik Welshans placed second in the final standings with four top ten finishes. Chris Powers finished third after a top ten finish in all five of his starts. Tommy Wentland and Mark Hoch completed the top five in Street Stock points.

Dave Brunka of Cheektowaga, N.Y. won his first career track championship in the 4-Cylinder division. Brunka won two races, and did not finish worse than fifth in four races this season at Lancaster. He won the July 20 and August 27 features, and then clinched the title with a third place run at the U.S. Open.

Josh Schosek finished second in the 4-Cylinder standings. Schosek earned his first career win on opening night, and then won at the U.S. Open. 2018 track champion Dan Dressel finished third in points. Charles Palmer and Chris Pennell rounded out the top five.

The Friends of Auto Racing (FOAR Score) collected a points fund for the Street Stocks and 4-Cylinders through the 50/50 ticket sales. The points money will be handed out by FOAR Score this offseason on a yet to be determined date.

The New York International Raceway Park ownership group thanks all the competitors that were part of the 2019 stock car season at Lancaster Speedway.
